There's A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House

Buried on page 554 of the plan is a directive to execute every remaining person on federal death row — and dramatically expand the use of the death penalty. During the final six months of Donald Trump’s presidency, his administration carried out an unprecedented execution spree, killing 13 people on federal death row and ending a 17-year de facto federal execution moratorium.

Iran | Executions in Sanandaj, Khorramabad, Zanjan, Meshginshahr

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); May 29, 2023: Abdolrahman Mozafari, a Kurdish man sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, was executed in Sanandaj Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Sanandaj Central Prison on 28 May. His identity has been established as 60-year-old Abdolrahman Mozafari from Qorveh. He was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

An informed source previously told Iran Human Rights that he had been on death row for 16 years.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to the 2022 Annual Report on the Death Penalty, at least 582 people were executed in Iran. Of those, 288 were executed for murder charges.

Those charged with the umbrella term of “intentional murder” are sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) regardless of intent or circumstances due to a lack of grading in law. Once a defendant has been convicted, the victim’s family are required to choose between death as retribution, diya (blood money) or forgiveness.

Man Executed in Khorramabad


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); May 28, 2023: Mohammad Amin Valinia, a man sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison on 27 May. His identity has been established as 33-year-old Mohammad Amin Valinia who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Mohammad Amin Valinia was arrested for murder charges around 11 years ago and sentenced to qisas.”

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

Meisam Sadri and Parviz Javadi Executed in Zanjan


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); May 28, 2023: Meisam Sadri and Parviz Javadi were executed for murder charges in Zanjan Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Zanjan Central Prison on 24 May. Their identities have been established as 41-year-old Meisam Sadri and Parviz Javadi who were sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Meisam Sadri was married with a small child, he was arrested four years ago and sentenced to qisas. Parviz Javadi was arrested around two years ago.”

At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

Man Executed in Meshginshahr 


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); May 28, 2023: Jalil Minayi, a man sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, was executed in Meshginshahr Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Meshginshahr Prison in Ardabil province on 28 May. His identity has been established as 35-year-old Jalil Minayi who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Jalil Minayi was arrested around three years ago and had been held in Ardabil and Meshginshahr prisons. He was accused of committing a murder during an altercation over financial issues.”

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
