There's A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House

Buried on page 554 of the plan is a directive to execute every remaining person on federal death row — and dramatically expand the use of the death penalty. During the final six months of Donald Trump’s presidency, his administration carried out an unprecedented execution spree, killing 13 people on federal death row and ending a 17-year de facto federal execution moratorium.

Iran | Man, Unidentified Woman Executed for Murder in Boroujerd, Three Men Executed in Hamedan, Man Executed for Murder in Borazjan

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); October 31, 2022: Sajad Zeinivandnejad and an unidentified woman have been executed for murder charges in Boroujerd Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Boroujerd Prison on October 23. His identity has been established as 30-year-old Sajad Zeinivandnejad who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Sajad was from the Biranvand tribe and arrested for murder in February 2020 and sentenced to death. Tribe elders have been trying to convince the victim’s family to accept diya in lieu of execution for three months. But the family refused and demanded qisas (retribution). He was transferred for execution earlier this year but his execution was delayed.”

On October 27, an unidentified woman was also executed at the prison. She was reportedly sentenced to qisas for the murder of her husband.

At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to data gathered by Iran Human Rights, at least 183 people were executed on murder charges in 2021. Those charged with the umbrella term of “intentional murder” are sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) regardless of intent or circumstances due to a lack of grading in law. Once a defendant has been convicted, the victim’s family are required to choose between death as retribution, diya (blood money) or forgiveness.

At least 251 including 6 women and 67 Baluch minorities were executed in the first six months of 2022. This is double the number of executions in the same period in 2021 when 117 people were executed.

Three Men Executed in Hamedan


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); October 30, 2022: Hossein Karimabadi, Alireza Janpour and Hossein Valizadeh were executed in Hamedan Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Hamedan Central Prison on October 16. His identity has been established as 32-year-old Hossein Karimabadi (pictured) who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “After they informed him that he would be executed a week before, Hossein slashed his wrist and was under medical care in the prison infirmary. And that’s the state they executed him in. Hossein always maintained that the drugs were not his and he was set up.”

On October 25, Alireza Janpour and Hossein Valizadeh were also executed at the prison. Alireza was arrested for drug-related charges around three years ago and sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

Hossein Valizadeh was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder. “Hossein had killed his friend over financial disputes around three years ago. Hossein was on the run in Isfahan for 40 days but returned to surrender himself.”

At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

Man Executed for Murder in Borazjan


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); October 30, 2022: Mohammad Esfandiari, a 25-year old man has been executed for murder in Borazjan Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Borazjan Prison on October 24. His identity has been established as 25-year-old Mohammad Esfandiari who was sentenced to qisas(retribution-in-kind) for murder.

Quoting a source close to the family, HRANA news agency wrote that the murder had taken place during a fight around five years ago. He was arrested and had served his time at the prison until his execution.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
