Iran Human Rights (IHR); November 10, 2019: A man was hanged at the central prison of Shiraz city last Monday.
According to IHR sources, on the morning of Monday, November 4, prisoner Hossein Asgari was hanged at Shiraz Central Prison (also known as Adelabad prison).
A human rights group, Nafad Dar Ghafas, has reported that Hossein Asgari was arrested three years ago and sentenced to death for murder.
Out of the 110 people who were executed in the first half of 2019, 83 were sentenced to qisas (retribution in-kind) for murder.
Man Hanged at Borujerd Prison
Iran Human Rights (IHR); November 9, 2019: A man was hanged at the central prison of Borujerd city last Thursday.
According to IHR sources, on the morning of November 5, prisoner Karam Sedghi was hanged at the central prison of Borujerd city, Lorestan province.
“He killed a person by a firearm four years ago. It was an honour killing case,” a well-informed source told IHR.
Out of the 110 people who were executed in the first half of 2019, 83 were sentenced to qisas (retribution in-kind) for murder.
There is a lack of a classification of murder by degree in Iran which results in issuing a death sentence for any kind of murder regardless of intensity and intent.
