Missouri Supreme Court vacates execution order

(AP) -- The Missouri Supreme Court has vacated its May 12th execution order for a former St. Louis jailer.

Kimber Edwards was convicted of hiring someone to kill his ex-wife in August 2000.

The man Edwards was convicted of hiring, Orthell Wilson, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors said Edwards wanted his ex dead so he wouldn't have to pay back child support.

At trial, Edwards insisted he had been framed.
