Iranian authorities have executed at least seven prisoners, including one Kurdish, one Lor, and three Turk prisoners, in Qazvin, Semnan, Zanjan, Karaj, and Nishapur prisons over four days. All seven had been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offenses.”
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, authorities executed Esmail Moradvand, 64, a Lor from Dasht-e Azadegan in Khuzestan Province who lived in Qazvin, and Faramarz Seyfouri, 38, a Turk from Abhar in Zanjan Province, in Qazvin Central Prison on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Both had been convicted of “drug-related offenses.” Moradvand was the father of four children, while Seyfouri had one child.
Authorities also executed Behnam Molani, 34, a taxi driver from Semnan, in Semnan Central Prison on October 28. He had been sentenced to death for “premeditated murder” following a dispute involving a romantic relationship four years earlier.
Two other prisoners, Khalil Gholizadeh, 40, a Turk from Takestan in Qazvin Province and father of two, and Ardeshir Karimi, 52, a Turk from Zanjan and father of three, were executed in Zanjan Central Prison on Tuesday, October 27. Both had been convicted of “drug-related offenses.” Gholizadeh had been arrested three years earlier and Karimi two years earlier.
Authorities also executed Farshad Qaderi, 28, a Kurdish prisoner from Qalateh village in Delfan County, in Karaj Central Prison on October 27. He had been sentenced to death under Iran's qisas (retribution-in-kind) law for “premeditated murder” following a group altercation. Qaderi had voluntarily turned himself in to authorities and maintained that he had acted in self-defense.
Amirali Einabadi, 35, was executed in Nishapur Prison on Sunday, October 25. He had been sentenced to death under qisas two years earlier for “premeditated murder” following an incident that resulted in the death of a woman for whom he had previously had romantic feelings.
