100 Guards Raid Iranian Prison's Political Ward, Beat Inmates, Execute Two

Guards at Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj violently raided the political prisoners’ ward and executed two inmates, according to social media reports from a political prisoner.

The Instagram page of Ahmadreza Haeri, a political prisoner, reported that prison guards and security forces stormed the political ward on Saturday and "completely ransacked" it.

During the raid, two political prisoners, Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hosseini, were transferred to solitary confinement and executed on Sunday morning, according to the report.

Another prisoner, Saeed Masouri, was exiled to Zahedan Prison.

"All political prisoners from Unit 4 of Qezel Hesar Prison have been transferred to an unknown location and have had no contact with their families since Friday evening," the post said.

"This communication blackout has increased concerns about their health and safety."

The report said the coordinated attack was ordered by senior prison officials and involved more than 100 armed special guard forces and Intelligence Ministry agents.

According to the account, the raid was led by prison warden Allahkaram Azizi, deputy warden Hasan Ghobadi, and Esmail Farajnejad.

Prison security chief Hossein Kamre’i, along with Rahim Feizi, Ahmad Shirazi, Mohammad Sabzemakan, and ward guard Falah, also took part in the operation.

Witnesses reported that political prisoners were severely beaten, handcuffed, shackled, and hooded before being transferred to solitary confinement or undisclosed locations.

The political prisoners’ ward in Unit 4 was left completely destroyed after the attack.Sources say all inmates from the ward have been moved to an unknown location, and their lives are believed to be in serious danger.

Human rights activists have condemned the action as an attempt to silence dissenting voices within Iranian prisons.
