There's A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House

Buried on page 554 of the plan is a directive to execute every remaining person on federal death row — and dramatically expand the use of the death penalty. During the final six months of Donald Trump’s presidency, his administration carried out an unprecedented execution spree, killing 13 people on federal death row and ending a 17-year de facto federal execution moratorium.

Iran | Executions in Mashhad, Karaj, Zahedan, Iranshahr

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); May 2, 2023: Aminollah Karimi Ghaljayi, a Baluch man sentenced to death for drug-related charges, has been executed in Mashhad Central Prison.

According to Hal Vash, a Baluch man was sentenced to death for drug-related charge sin Mashhad Central Prison (Vakil Abad) on 1 May. His identity has been reported as 40-year-old Aminollah Karimi Ghaljayi who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Courts.

An informed source quoted in the report, said: “Aminollah was arrested with his wife in Mashhad on 8 July 2020. The Mashhad Revolutionary Court sentenced him to death and his wife to 10 years imprisonment.”

At the time of writing, his executions has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

Ethnic minorities, the Baluch in particular, are grossly overrepresented in execution numbers in Iran. In 2022, at least 174 Baluch minorities including 3 women, were executed in 22 prisons across Iran, making up 30% of overall executions. This is while they represent just 2-6% of Iran’s population.

Baluch minorities also represented almost half of drug-related executions in 2022. 47.3% of the 256 people executed for drug-related charges were Baluch. Aminollah is the tenth Baluch prisoner to be executed in three days.

According to reports gathered by Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO), at least 256 people were executed for drug-related offences in 2022, a more than two-fold increase compared to 2021 (126) and ten times more than 2020 (25).

Mohammad Chahargoosheh Executed in Karaj


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); May 1, 2023: Mohammad Chahargoosheh, a man sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, was executed in Rajai Shahr (Gohardasht) Prison. Another prisoner has been transferred for execution.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Rajai Shahr Prison (Gohardasht) on 26 April. His identity has been established as 32-year-old Mohammad Chahargoosheh who was sentenced to qisas for murder.

Mohammad was arrested on charges of “murder during a street fight” around seven years ago and sentenced to qisas. He was previously transferred for execution on 1 March but his execution was postponed for unknown reasons.

At the time of writing, his executions has not been reported by domestic media and officials in Iran.

Domestic media have also reported the imminent execution of another prisoner named Saeed Saleh for murder charges. He was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution which is scheduled to take place by Wednesday.

According to data collected by Iran Human Rights, at least 582 people were executed in 2022. Only 71 (12%) were reported by official sources.

Those charged with the umbrella term of “intentional murder” are sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) regardless of intent or circumstances due to a lack of grading in law. Once a defendant has been convicted, the victim’s family are required to choose between death as retribution, diya (blood money) or forgiveness.

Three Baluch Including a Woman Executed in Zahedan and Iranshahr


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); May 1, 2023: Two Baluch Men and a woman sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, were executed in Zahedan Central Prison and Iranshahr Prison.

According to Hal Vash, a Baluch man was executed in Iranshahr Prison on 29 April. His identity has been reported as 42-year-old Eid Mohammad Shadman (Bameri) who was sentenced to death for murder.

On April 30, another Baluch man a woman were also executed in Zahedan Central Prison. Both sentenced to death for murder, the man’s identity has been reported as 31-year-old Golmohammad Narouyi (pictured), known as Eidouk from Zahedan.

The woman’s identity has not been reported at the time of writing.

Three other Baluch men’s executions were reported in Zahedan and Iranshahr Prisons on 29 April, raising the number of executions at those prisons to four.

At the time of writing, none of the executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
