There's A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House

Buried on page 554 of the plan is a directive to execute every remaining person on federal death row — and dramatically expand the use of the death penalty. During the final six months of Donald Trump’s presidency, his administration carried out an unprecedented execution spree, killing 13 people on federal death row and ending a 17-year de facto federal execution moratorium.

Iran | Man Executed for Murder in Shiraz, Man Executed for Murder in Sabzevar, 2 Executed in Damghan, Man Executed for Rape in Ardabil, 2 Executed for Drug Charges in Hamedan

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 31, 2022: Reza Meraji who was sentenced to qisas for murder, was executed in Shiraz Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, man was executed in Shiraz Central Prison on July 31. His identity has been established as 30-year-old Reza Meraji, who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder after being arrested four years ago.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to data gathered by Iran Human Rights, at least 183 people were executed on murder charges in 2021. Those charged with the umbrella term of “intentional murder” are sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) regardless of intent or circumstances due to a lack of grading in law. Once a defendant has been convicted, the victim’s family are required to choose between death as retribution, diya (blood money) or forgiveness.

At least 251 including 6 women and 67 Baluch minorities were executed in the first six months of 2022. This is double the number of executions in the same period in 2021 when 117 people were executed.

Man Executed for Murder in Sabzevar


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 31, 2022: Nemat Valipour who was sentenced to qisas for murder, was executed in Sabzevar Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, man was executed in Sabzevar Prison on July 31. His identity has been established as 36-year-old Nemat Valipour, a factory worker who was sentenced to qisasc(retribution-in-kind) for murder.

Informed sources told Iran Human Rights that Nemat Valipour was a father of one and factory worker who had been arrested for the murder over financial disputes.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to data gathered by Iran Human Rights, at least 183 people were executed on murder charges in 2021. Those charged with the umbrella term of “intentional murder” are sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) regardless of intent or circumstances due to a lack of grading in law. Once a defendant has been convicted, the victim’s family are required to choose between death as retribution, diya (blood money) or forgiveness.

Baluch Prisoners Saeed Shehbakhsh and Ziaollah Barahouyi Executed in Damghan


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 31, 2022: Saeed Shehbakhsh and Ziaollah Barahouyi-Yagizehi, two Baluch men sentenced to death for drug-related charges, were executed in Damghan Prison.

According to Hal Vash, two Baluch men were executed Damghan Prison on July 29. Their identities have been reported as 35-year-old Ziaollah Barahouyi-Yagizehi and Saeed Shehbakhsh who were sentenced to death for drug-related charges in the same case.

Saeed Shehbakhsh and Ziaollah Barahouyi were arrested in Damghan around three years ago and had been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions on July 27.

At the time of writing, neither of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to reports compiled by Iran Human Rights, at least 126 people were executed on drug-related charges in 2021, a fivefold increase compared to drug executions in the previous three years. This trend has continued into 2022, with 91 executions recorded in the first six months of 2022, double the number for the same period in 2021 when 40 people were executed.

At least 251 including 6 women and 67 Baluch minorities were executed in the first six months of 2022. This is double the number of executions in the same period in 2021 when 117 people were executed.

Payam Nouri Executed for Rape in Ardabil


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 31, 2022: Payam Nouri, a man sentenced to death for rape charges, was executed in Ardabil Central Prison

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Ardabil Central Prison on July 31. His identity has been established as 28-year-old Payam Nouri, an Ardabil native who was sentenced to death for rape charges.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Payam Nouri was behind bars for six years and was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution from Ward 3 of Ardabil Central Prison.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

In cases of rape, there is a high chance of defendants being tortured to make false confessions, which is used to issue death sentences. In Iran is one of the few countries in the world that issues the death penalty for rape. A lot of cases are also rushed without the defendants having access to a lawyer.

Man Executed for Murder in Kermanshah


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 31, 2022: Ayoub Mirzayi who was sentenced to qisas for murder, was executed in Kermanshah Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, man was executed in Kermanshah Central Prison on July 31. His identity has been established as Ayoub Mirazayi-Sarabi who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

He had been behind bars for around two years according to Hengaw which first reported his execution.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

Ahmad Ghadimi and Shahram Yadegar Executed for Drug Charges in Hamedan


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 30, 2022: Ahmad Ghadimi and Shahram Yadegar, two men sentenced to death for drug-related charges, were executed in Hamedan Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were executed in Hamedan Central Prison on July 26. Their identities have been established as 35-year-old Ahmad Ghadimi (pictured) and Shahram Yadegar who were sentenced to death for drug-related charges in the separate cases.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Ahmad Ghadimi worked in a supermarket before his arrest and had a small child. Shahram Yadegari was arrested around three years ago.”

At the time of writing, neither of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
