There's A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House

Buried on page 554 of the plan is a directive to execute every remaining person on federal death row — and dramatically expand the use of the death penalty. During the final six months of Donald Trump’s presidency, his administration carried out an unprecedented execution spree, killing 13 people on federal death row and ending a 17-year de facto federal execution moratorium.

Iran | Executed for Murder in Neishabur; Two Men, Unidentified Woman Executed in Shiraz; Five Men Executed for Murder in Rajai Shahr Prison

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); August 23, 2022: Ahmad Karami, a man sentenced to death for murder charges, was executed in Neishabur Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Neishabur Prison on August 23. His identity has been established as 37-year-old Ahmad Karami who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

Informed sources told Iran Human Rights that Ahmad Karami was a father of one and had been arrested for murder over financial disputes around four years ago.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to data gathered by Iran Human Rights, at least 183 people were executed on murder charges in 2021. Those charged with the umbrella term of “intentional murder” are sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) regardless of intent or circumstances due to a lack of grading in law. Once a defendant has been convicted, the victim’s family are required to choose between death as retribution, diya (blood money) or forgiveness.

At least 251 including 6 women and 67 Baluch minorities were executed in the first six months of 2022. This is double the number of executions in the same period in 2021 when 117 people were executed.

Hossein Mohseni, Fariborz Jamei and Unidentified Woman Executed in Shiraz


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); August 23, 2022: Hossein Mohseni, Fariborz Jamei and an unidentified woman were executed in Shiraz Central Prison yesterday.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men and a woman were executed in Shiraz Central Prison on August 22. One of the men whose identity has been established as Hossein Mohseni, was sentenced to death for drug-related offences. The second man who as sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, has been identified as Fariborz Jamei (pictured).

The identity of the executed woman has not been established at the time of writing but she was also sentenced to qisas for murder.

At the time of writing, none of their executions have been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

Five Men Executed for Murder in Rajai Shahr Prison


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); August 24, 2022: Mohammadreza Shahramfar, Hadi Jozi and three unidentified men were executed for murder charges in Rajai Shahr Prison. 

Five other men were returned to their cells after obtaining extensions and forgiveness in their cases.

According to Rokna, five man was executed in Rajai Shahr Prison on August 24. They were all sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder in separate cases.

The identities of two of the men have been established as Hadi Jozi (pictured) and Mohammadreza Shahramfar who was transferred from Ward 1 of the prison. The identities of the other three men have not been established at the time of writing.

The five prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions in a group of ten. The other five men were spared execution after obtaining extensions or forgiveness from the victims’ families.

Human Rights in Iran had previously quoted an informed source saying that Hadi Jozi was arrested for a murder during a fight around three years ago. The victim’s family had refused to forgo their right to retribution.
