There's A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House

Buried on page 554 of the plan is a directive to execute every remaining person on federal death row — and dramatically expand the use of the death penalty. During the final six months of Donald Trump’s presidency, his administration carried out an unprecedented execution spree, killing 13 people on federal death row and ending a 17-year de facto federal execution moratorium.

Call for Immediate Action To Stop Regime’s Execution Machine, Bring Khamenei and Raisi to Justice

The failure in curbing popular uprisings has significantly heightened the mullahs’ fear and desperation in the face of the people’s anger and discontent and prospects for the regime’s overthrow. This explains the dramatic rise in the number of executions since Ebrahim Raisi became president last year.

The regime hanged Abulfazl Sharifi in Qazvin prison and Saeed Kamali in Dastgerd prison in Isfahan on August 22; a female prisoner and Hossein Mohseni and Fariborz Jamei in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz, Abbas Sarooni in Gonbadkavous prison on August 21; and Moeen Atashbar, a Baluch, in Saravan prison on August 20.

Eleven prisoners were hanged in Arak prison in the third week of August: one on August 18, 6, Morteza Soltani, Ahmad Abdi Nasab, Hossein Sadeghpour, Milad Badrkhani, Hossein Ganji, and Ahmed Naseri, on August 17; and four, Vahid Mousa Khani, Mohammad Mashhad Alkubeh, Ahmad Marzban, and Mehdi Nokarmi in Arak prison on August 14. The NCRI Secretariat had already announced the execution of 6 of them in its previous statements.

On August 15, Mithaq Yavari was hanged in Khorramabad prison.

These bring to 71 the number of executions from July 23 to August 22. At least 28 were hanged in the 3rd week of August.

The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations and human rights advocates, as well as the European Union and its member states, to take immediate action to prevent the increasing rate of executions and to send a UN international investigative delegation to visit the prisons and meet with the prisoners. 

The mullahs’ regime’s dossier of human rights violations should be referred to the UN Security Council, and its leaders, especially Khamenei and Raisi, should be brought to justice for four decades of crimes against humanity and genocide.

The following document is a written record of convicted killer Hamida Djandoubi's last moments before he was guillotined in a Marseilles prison on September 10, 1977. This written record -- dated September 9 -- was written by a judge appointed to witness the execution. Alabama SC approves second nitrogen gas execution

The Alabama Supreme Court has authorized the execution of a second inmate by nitrogen gas, months after the state became the first state to put a person to death with the previously untested method. Justices granted Attorney General Steve Marshall’s request for an execution date for Alan Eugene Miller, who survived a 2022 lethal injection attempt.

On April 18, 2024, the Arkansas Supreme Court decided 4-3 to reverse a 2022 lower court decision and allow genetic testing of crime scene evidence from the 1993 killing of three eight-year-old boys in West Memphis. The three men convicted in 1994 for the killings were released in 2011 after taking an Alford plea, in which they maintained their innocence but plead guilty to the crime, in exchange for 18 years’ time served and 10 years of a suspended sentence.

North Texas jury sentences killer to death penalty for shooting Burleson woman, cop

A jury of 12 Johnson County residents voted Thursday to send 31-year-old Jerry Elders to death row for the murder of Robin Waddell, agreeing with prosecutors who requested the death penalty. The defense argued for life in prison without parole, saying Thursday morning that Elders’ actions came after a lifetime of drug addiction and going in and out of jails and prisons, being kicked out of his family home as a teenager and not receiving support from family members.

Utah requests execution of death row inmate

SALT LAKE CITY — The state of Utah requested on Tuesday that a man who’s been on death row for almost 25 years be executed. Taberon Honie was convicted of the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s mother in 1999. In the death warrant application, the state’s lawyers said Honie used up his appeals and there is no longer any legal reason to stop Honie’s execution.

Iraq executes 11 people convicted of terrorism crimes

Iraqi courts have handed down hundreds of death and life sentences in recent years for people convicted of membership in a terrorist group.
