There's A GOP Plan For An Execution Spree If Trump Wins The White House

Buried on page 554 of the plan is a directive to execute every remaining person on federal death row — and dramatically expand the use of the death penalty. During the final six months of Donald Trump’s presidency, his administration carried out an unprecedented execution spree, killing 13 people on federal death row and ending a 17-year de facto federal execution moratorium.

Iran | Executions in Urmia, Khash Prison, Rajai Shahr Prison

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); March 14, 2022: Ebrahim Nasirkhah was executed in Urmia Central Prison after being sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Urmia Central Prison on the morning of March 14. His identity has been established as Ebrahim Nasirkhah who was sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Ebrahim Nasirkhah had been in prison for three years and was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution last night. He had previously gone to the gallows twice but his execution was delayed for unknown reasons.”

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to Iran Human Rights’ Annual Report on the Death Penalty in Iran, at least 25 people were executed on drug-related charges in 2020.

On December 10, Iran Human Rights warned again of the rise in drug-related executions, which is now at a four-year record high and called on the international community for a prompt reaction.

Baluch Alam Yar-Ahmadzehi Executed in Khash Prison


Iran Human Rights Organization; March 13, 2022: Alam Yar-Ahmadzehi, a Baluch man sentenced to qisas for “murder during a fight”, was executed in Khash Prison.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a Baluch man was executed in Khash Prison on the morning of  March 12. His identity has been established as 48-year-old Alam Yar-Ahmadzehi who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder during a fight.

Alam Yar-Ahmadzehi was arrested over eleven years ago and had been behind bards since.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

According to Iran Human Rights’ Annual Report on the Death Penalty, at least 211 of the 267 people executed in 2020 were sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for "premeditated murder."

As there are no legal distinctions made between murder and manslaughter and no grading, whether voluntary or involuntary in Iran, those charged under the umbrella term of “premeditated murder” will receive the death penalty regardless of intent and the circumstances.

Vahid Tabatabaei Executed for Murder in Rajai Shahr Prison


Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); March 11, 2022: Vahid Tabatabaei who was sentenced to qisas for murder, has been executed in Rajai Shahr Prison, increasing the number of people executed at the prison that day to two.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was executed in Rajai Shahr Prison on the morning of March 2. His identity has been established as 39-year-old Seyed Vahid Tabatabaei, a Varamin native who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Vahid Tabatabaei was arrested for murder charges seven years ago. He had a six-month-old baby at the time of his arrest. The family of his victim were supposed to consent for him not to be executed when he was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution on Tuesday (March 8), they waited until 6.30 am for the consent to come through, but it didn’t and he was executed.”

Iran Human Rights previously reported the execution of Vahid Mousavi at the prison on that day, which now raises the number of executions to two.

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.
