Iran Human Rights (IHR); June 22, 2020: Death row prisoner Omid Hashem-Zehi was executed at Zahedan prison on June 17.
According to HRANA, death row prisoner Omid Hashem-Zehi (27) was executed at the central prison of Zahedan city, southern Iran, on June 17.
He was arrested two years ago and sentenced to death for the charge of murder.
His execution has not been announced by Iranian authorities or the media so far.
Man Hanged in Shiraz Prison
June 20, 2020: A man was hanged on June 16 at the central prison of Shiraz city for murder.
According to IHR sources, on the morning of Tuesday, June 16, death row prisoner Yasser Abdollahzadeh (31) was hanged at Shiraz central prison.
He was arrested and sentenced to death for murdering a man over financial disputes three years ago.
His execution has not been announced by Iranian authorities or the media so far.
According to IHR’s Annual Report on the Death Penalty in Iran, at least 280 people were executed in Iran in 2019, including 225 for murder charges.
