Iran Human Rights (IHR); July 5, 2019: A man hanged at the Iranian northeastern city of Birjand’s prison.
According to IRIB News, a man was executed for murder charges at Birjand prison.
Neither exact date of the execution, nor the identity of the prisoner, were revealed by the authorities.
At least two prisoners were hanged at Rajai-Shahr prison
Iran Human Rights (IHR); July 4, 2019: At least two prisoners were hanged at Rajai-Shahr prison yesterday.
According to IHR sources, on the early morning of Wednesday, July 3, at least two prisoners were hanged at the Iranian city of Karaj’s Rajai-Shahr prison.
IHR sources have identified them as Mehdi Assadi and Hassan Baradaran.
Iranian website Rokna has also reported about the executions without mentioning the prisoners’ name.
Both men were sentenced to death for murder charges.
According to the Iran Human Rights statistic department, at least 273 people were executed in Iran in 2018.
At least 188 of them executed for murder charges.
