President-elect Donald Trump’s return to office is putting a spotlight on the U.S. penitentiary in Terre Haute, which houses federal death row. In Bloomington, a small community of death row spiritual advisors is struggling to support the prisoners to whom they minister.  Ross Martinie Eiler is a Mennonite, Episcopal lay minister and member of the Catholic Worker movement, which assists the homeless. Drug smuggler in Thai court

Dec 19 - An Australian man who attempted to smuggle three kilogrammes of heroin out of Thailand says that he was in need of the money to support his family.

The 36 year old man was arrested at Suvarnabhumi International airport, if he is found guilty he will face the death penalty by lethal injection.

Police said they are looking for another suspect who they believe is an accomplice. He is on the run after managing to escape from the airport.

Thailand was once a major supplier of heroin, which was grown in the mountainous and relatively lawless area close to Myanmar and Laos.
