Le 14 janvier 2008, un ressortissant saoudien a été décapité au sabre dans la ville de Hail, au nord du pays. Abdullah bin Mashari a été exécuté pour avoir tiré des coups de feu mortels sur Mansour al Kharir, à la suite d'une violente dispute causée par "un différend familial".

Le 15 janvier 2008, les autorités saoudiennes ont fait procéder à la décapitation au sabre d'un ressortissant étranger condamné à la peine capitale pour l'assassinat de sa mère. Selon l'acte d'accusation, Misahri al-Enizi avait tué sa mère à coups de couteau à d'Arara, une ville située dans le nord du Royaume saoudien. La nationalité du condamné n'a pas été révélée.

Le 16 janvier, les autorités saoudiennes ont fait procéder à la décapitation au sabre de trois personnes condamnées pour viol et pour meurtre. Nashaat Ben Suleiman Ben Ahmedhaji et sa femme Iman Bent Ali Ghazawi ont été décapités pour le meurtre de la fille d'Ahmedhaji. Le condamné estimait que cette jeune fille issue d'un premier mariage n'était pas la sienne. Adel al-Hathrami a été décapité au sabre pour le viol d'un adolescent. Le ministère n'a pas donné d'autres informations au sujet de cette exécution.

Le 20 janvier, deux personnes ont été décapitées au sabre dans la province orientale du Royaume, connue pour être ultraconservatrice. Les deux suppliciés avaient été condamnés à mort pour trafic de drogue.

Le 22 janvier, deux Saoudiens et un ressortissant yéménite ont été décapités au sabre. Les deux suppliciés saoudiens, qui ont été exécutés à Al-Ihsa, avaient été condamnés à mort pour meurtre. Le supplicié yéménite, exécuté dans la province frontalière de Jizan, avait été condamné à mort pour trafic de drogue.

Le 23 janvier, trois immigrants birmans ont été décapités à La Mecque. Ils avaient été condamnés à mort pour attaque à main armée.

Le 29 janvier, une femme originaire du Nigeria et un ressortissant du Pakistan ont été décapités à La Mecque. Les deux suppliciés avaient été condamnés à mort pour trafic de drogue.

Le 30 janvier, deux hommes, Muhammad Hosawi et Majid bin Jaber, ont été décapités au sabre dans la ville sainte de Médine. Ils avaient été condamnés à mort pour le kidnapping et le viol d'un jeune garçon.

Their identities have been established as Mahin Rashidi, a 39-year-old woman, Abbas Alami, 43, Naser Faraji, 38, Tohid Barzegar, 51, and Jamshid Amirfazli, 45, all Kashan natives.
