Iran: Man Hanged in Khoy Central Prison

Public execution, Iran
Iran Human Rights (Mar 12, 2018): A prisoner was hanged at Khoy Central Prison on rape charges.

According to a report by HRANA, on the morning of Sunday, March 11, a prisoner was executed at Khoy Central Prison on rape charges.

The prisoner was identified as Javad Golneyyat, and he had two young girls.

A close source said, “Mr. Golneyyat was sentenced to death on rape charges. He was executed at Khoy Central Prison this morning. He denied the accusation. That’s why his family and I went to prison today and asked the prison warden to delay the execution but all our efforts were in vain, and he was executed anyway.”

The execution of this prisoner, which is confirmed by IHR sources, has not been announced by the state-run media so far.
