NCRI - From May 19 to 21, the antihuman clerical regime in Iran executed 37 in prisons or on the streets of various cities.

Three prisoners were executed in public in the cities of Qouchan, Minab and Shiraz. The execution in Minab was carried out in football field in the town to further intensify the atmosphere of fear among the youth. In Shiraz, a prisoner that was condemned to death and about to be executed received 111 lashes.

Just on May 20 and 21, twenty-four prisoners were executed in three group hangings in Ghezel Hessar and Gohardasht prisons in Karaj. 

Eight who were hanged in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 21, in Ghezel Hessar Prison were among the prisoners who had protested the wave of collective and secret executions in this prison on 17 August 2014 in order to stop the execution of a number of their cellmates and had clashed with prison guards.

Execution of nine prisoners in two group hangings in prisons in Shiraz and Arak on May 19 plus another prisoner in the central prison of Arak are the other crimes of this regime in this time span.

The objective of the savage regime of velayat-e faqih that the Iranian people call it the Godfather of ISIS is to intensify the atmosphere of terror and horror in order to control social protests that have turned into a nightmare for the clerical regime.

The Osaka District Court on Monday dismissed a lawsuit by death row inmates that claimed same-day notifications of executions violate the Constitution — the first ruling of its kind. THE HINDU BUREAU — Businessman and social activist Bobby Chemmanur, who has pledged to raise deliverance money to save Kozhikode native Abdul Rahim from death, continued his efforts on Thursday with a fund raising Yatra across Kerala. Brian Dorsey is a “rare case where those of us who sit in judgment of a man convicted of capital murder got it wrong,” according to a former judge who upheld his death sentence. Brian Dorsey's appointed trial lawyers were paid a flat fee of $12,000 to represent him. Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); April 15 2024: Marjan Hajizadeh and Esmail Hassaniani, a couple sentenced to death for drug-related charges in a joint case, were executed in Zanjan Central Prison.  Marjan is reported to have been 16 at the time of arrest, which IHRNGO is working to confirm. If verified, she will be the first child offender executed for drug charges since 2014. She was also a child bride forced into marriage.

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments centering on an Arizona death row prisoner that could set new precedent to determining ineffective assistance of counsel.  A Mohave County Superior Court jury convicted Danny Lee Jones for the 1992 murders of Robert Weaver and his daughter Tisha, as well as the attempted murder of Weaver’s grandmother. A judge sentenced Jones to death for the two murders.
