Truong My Lan, a businesswoman who chaired a sprawling company that developed luxury apartments, hotels, offices and shopping malls, was arrested in 2022.

Iran: Three hanged in public

Iran Human Rights, November 14: Three prisoners were hanged publicly in Arak (central Iran) this morning, reported the Iranian state media today.

According to the official website of the Iranian judiciary in Markazi Province three prisoners identified as Behzad (27), Mehdi (37) and Meysam (25) were hanged publicly in one of the streets of Arak this morning (Wednesday November 14). The prisoners were convicted of kidnapping and rape of a girl, and one of the prisoners was in addition convicted of murder, said the report.

According to the official Iranian sources 28 people have been executed, during the last week (Wednesday 7. to Wednesday 14. November). 10 of the executions have been carried out in public. In addition, Iran Human Rights (IHR) has received reports of 47 unofficial (not announced) executions in the same time period.

IHR urges the international community to react to the wave of executions being carried out by the Iranian authorities. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of IHR, said: "Iranian people are being terrorized by the Iranian authorities’ horror show of public executions on a daily basis. International community must take serious measures against these barbaric acts".
