Three executed in Iran, two hanged in public

Iran Human Rights, March 6: Three prisoners were hanged in two different Iranian cities.

Public execution of two prisoners in Mianeh:

Two prisoners were hanged publicly in the Torkmanchai area of Mianeh (northwestern Iran) reported the state run Iranian news agency Mehr. The prisoners who were identified as "A. R." and "S. N." were convicted of murdering a man in 2011, said the report. The public executions took place on March 2.

Execution of a prisoner in the prison of Sari:

The official website of the Iranian Judicary in Mazanderan reported about execution of one prisoner on February 28. The prisoner who was not identified by name was convicted of drug-related charges. The execution was carried out in the prison of Sari (northern Iran).
