Truong My Lan, a businesswoman who chaired a sprawling company that developed luxury apartments, hotels, offices and shopping malls, was arrested in 2022.

Three hanged in southeastern Iran

Iran Human Rights, December 8: Three prisoners were hanged in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan early this morning, reported the Iranian state media.

According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, three prisoners convicted of drug-related charges were hanged in the prison of Zahedan (capital of Sinstan-Baluchestan Province) today, Saturday December 8.

The prisoners were identified as "Iraj M." convicted of possession of 189 kilos of heroin, "Mahmood T." convicted of possession and carrying 386 kilos of opium and 149 kilos of heroin, and "Nematollah A." for importing 5700 grams of crack.

According to the "Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran" one of the prisoners is Iraj Mohammadi (46) from Kemanshah (western Iran) who was sentenced to death solely based on confessions made by another prisoner against him.
